Electro-acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture (EA) is the stimulation of percutaneously inserted acupuncture needles with weak alternating electrical currents for therapeutic purposes. Electric-acupuncture greatly enhances acupuncture therapy's effectiveness for a broad range of clinical conditions.

As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electrical pulses between them.

This application augments the use of regular acupuncture, and is particularly good for treating pain.
